Ornamental motives diversity in Indonesia 

The diversity of ethnic groups in Indonesia, making the appearance of various shades of cultural art in Indonesia. This makes Indonesia has its own worth. However, in this modern era, the cultural diversity compete with foreign cultures as a result of open access to the world of communication.

Textile is one of the results of the culture that born with gamelan culture, literature, and puppets. Because of the cultural heritage in the form of fabric are hard to find, our ancestors do it with cultural comparison. Of which is comparing it with decorative relics in temples and relics of other hard objects. Kawung, in Sundanese means palm or fro. Therefore Kawung decoration has a shape resembling a palm fruit that cut crosswise so it looks four palm seeds. This decorative has existed in Indonesia since the era ancestor, with proof is, this decorative ornament used on statues of Hindu temples in Java.

Meander, decoration that has a basic form of the letter T. After being developed, this decorative have many variations, among them is decorative Swastika and Pinggir Awan (the edge of the cloud). Decorative meanders usually used as a edge decoration to complement the main decorative.
